Diet soda may not be a good weapon in your battle of the bulge. This comes from two new
studies that indicate diet soda may contribute to larger waistlines and even to diabetes.
Two studies presented at a recent conference held by the American Diabetes Association indicates that diet
soda may be free of calories but not of consequences.
Epidemiologists from the School of Medicine at The University of Texas reported data showing diet soda
consumption is associated with increased waist circumference in humans, and a second study found aspartame
raised blood sugar in diabetes-prone mice.
